"I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses." Joshua 1:3
Divine Promises...
What did God say to Joshua? He said, "EVERY PLACE that the sole of your foot treads upon - that - I have given you".
God then outlines the land - but, on one condition. They have to march through the land and measure it by thier own feet.
The land that God had promised proved to be a vast land and the people pnly marched through about a 1/3 of it...and guess what? They never recieved more than a 1/3 of the land. They got what they measured off and no more.
Are you recieving all of the Divine Promises of God?
It is so important for us to take God at His word, He promises us so much and it's up to us to recieve those promised through faith and obeidience. So walk confidently, measuring off the promises that God intends for us to have.
"For whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech." 1 Peter 3:10
I don't know about you but there have been more times than I can count where I've opened my big mouth and said something I've immediately regretted. From that point on, the day seemed to get worse.
Words have so much power...they can heal, they can comfort and they can even damage relationships. James 3:2 says, "We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check." We can control our whole body IF we control our mouths.
Before we respond too quickly, we should stop and listen to that 'check' the Holy Spirit gives us. "Let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to take offense AND slow to get angry" James 1:19
Committing our speech to God can save us alot of trouble and regrets. We must remember to speak healing and comforting words to others.
"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him." Psalm 91:14 & 15
I love Psalm 91. It's one of my most favorite chapters in the Bible. If you haven't read it, please do so...
When we think of shelter, we think of houses - a place to protect us from the elements. Elements are those forces that can harm us; cold, rain, heat, frost, etc. But, Psalm 91 shows us that God is our shelter. When we look to Him for protection, He can shield us from the elements of evil, hurt, loss, and godlessness.
God can and WILL protect us. His arms cover us from hurt and pain. His lap comforts us. He spreads His self completely on top of us, caresses us with His loving hands. He is our sanctuary, a place of safety.
We can run and hide behind His leg as children do when they are scared. The only thing He wants us to do is believe. To trust in His love for us - to know, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that He has our best interest at heart even if we don't know what it is.
We are not to fear even the darkest night or the cruelest sicknesses - not even the daily terrors that strike when we least expect it. We are to remain steadfast, standing on His promises and His word to us. Through Him, we will have the protection of angels encamped around our homes, our lives, our situations - for they are His soldiers.
He will rescue us - as long as we love Him, give our whole heart to Him and belive! As long as we call upon Him, He will hear. He will honor us and rescue us. This is His promise.
I am a mother of 2 and bonus mother of 2.
